Happy Birthday, Amber!

I’d like to wish Amber Benson a very Happy Birthday. Amber, I hope today and the year ahead bring you happiness and only good things.

Followers of the website’s social media feeds will know that I posted Happy Birthday messages there, too, of course. I also wanted to write a post here in the Latest Amber News section as well.

I've been a huge fan and have followed Amber's career for many years, and in that time, I've been fortunate enough to meet her in person on a number of occasions.

Amber is not only hugely talented, but she's also a kind and generous person. If it had not been for the encouragement Amber has given me, I never would have attempted many new things. I’m very grateful for all of her support and kind words.

In 2025, she returned to the UK as a guest at Wales Comic Con, and I had the opportunity to see her in person along with fellow Amber fans. She is already set to return to Europe next month, she will be a guest in Whispers From The Hellmouth 3 in Paris and will be attending a Comic Con in Aberdeen in March. Click the hyperlinks for details. She is also set to make more UK appearances this year, and I will be posting updates about them as soon as possible.

In a recent appearance on the Chasing Amy Adams podcast, Amber revealed she is working on a number of projects at the moment. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us in 2026, and as ever, I will do my best to keep everyone up-to-date.

Amber Benson is the special guest on a bonus episode of the Chasing Amy Adams Podcast.

Earlier this month Amber was the guest on a special bonus episode of the Chasing Amy Adams Podcast. The podcast was created by Dane McDonald and Louis Peitzman and it's dedicated to the career of actor and producer Amy Adams.

As many fans will know Amber played the role of Tara Maclay for three seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Amy guest starred as Tara’s cousin Beth in Season Five, Episode Six “Family”. Louis Peitzman who hosted this episode is a fan of Buffy too. He started by asking Amber what it was like to have an episode that focused on her character Tara. They also discuss Tara’s relationship with Willow as this is a key theme of the episode.

Amber recalls what it was like to work with Amy, her professionalism and having the opportunity to make her feel welcome and chat as they travel to shoot together on location.

Louis and Amber discussed some of Amy's other work and Amber highlights a couple of her favourite performances by Amy including the romantic comedy Leap Year which happens to be one of my favourites too.

Amber is set to be a guest at Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen in March 2026

Here is some hugely exciting news for fans in the UK. It was recently revealed that Amber Benson will be a guest at Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen in the spring of 2026.

Amber will be joined in Scotland by her fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Kristine Sutherland, who played Joyce Summers. Amber will be signing autographs, and fans will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with her by a professional photographer. Based on previous events held by the same organisers, I think it is likely that there will be a panel featuring Amber at the convention, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Comic Con Scotland will take place between Saturday, the 14th, and Sunday, the 15th of March 2026. The convention will be held at P&J Live, located at E Burn Rd, Aberdeen, AB21 9FX, Scotland.

Amber's Witch House Trails Featured in a Brand-New Article on Forbes.com

Amber recently curated her sixth Witch House Trail with FORT:LA (Friends of Residential Treasures). Their goal is to educate, celebrate, and preserve LA’s historic architecture. To find out more about their work, visit www.fortla.org.

FORT LA offers several self-guided tours, each focusing on a different theme, created by writers, architects, and historians, each with their own narrative. In what has become a tradition, Amber has created six separate tours featuring some unique houses all set around the theme of witches and magic.

This year, Amber has created her sixth trail entitled “Witch Houses 6: Spells and Magic”. Earlier this month, I posted an article about this year's trail and how to download the free tour guide, including a map and an introduction by Amber. To view that article, click here.

I've never had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles, but for the last few years, I've really enjoyed reading the tour guides Amber has created and learning more about these fascinating houses. It seems I'm not the only one, as LA-based arts and culture journalist R. Daniel Foster recently wrote an article published on Forbes.com about Amber's work with FORT: LA.

The article looks at the work of FORT:LA and how the collaboration with Amber began. Amber also discusses the changing depiction of witches and finding supernatural stories to inspire her tours. This fascinating article not only looks at this year’s exciting trail but also some of her favourite houses from previous years, along with some fantastic photos of the properties featured.

When the article was first published online, I shared it on our dedicated Facebook and X feeds. However, I wanted to post it here as well, so if you are new to this site or not currently following us online, then you could find it too.

Amber Creates Her Sixth Halloween Trail in Los Angeles with FORT LA

There is a chill in the air, and leaves are beginning to fall from the trees – autumn has arrived! Personally, I'm not a fan of colder weather, but here are two things to get excited about:

1) Halloween
2) Amber Benson's latest witch-themed Halloween trail!

In what has become a tradition in recent years, Amber has curated her sixth witch-themed Halloween trail in association with (FORT) LA.

Friends of Residential Treasures: LA is an “Award-winning nonprofit dedicated to energizing, educating, and connecting Angelenos through the dynamic stories of our homes, neighborhoods, and architecture.”

Amber’s newest trail is called Witch Houses 6: Spells and Magic. This trail features five historic properties in LA, each with a connection to spells and magic. Amber based her Echo Park Coven trilogy of novels in Los Angeles, so she's no stranger when it comes to spells and magical locations in the City of Angels.

Here's how trailblazer Amber describes Witch Houses 6: Spells and Magic in the official guide:

“Dear Witch Trail Reader:

Magic isn’t just confined to living things. It can also be found in inanimate objects – like houses. Have you ever stepped into someone’s home and felt immediately cozy? Magic. Have you ever visited a friend and found their home cold and sterile? Magic, too.

The vibe a home gives off is actually a combination of the human residents that reside in it and the building, itself – which can be good or evil in its own right.

There have been many spells created in the category of “hearth magic” (a.k.a. “magic for the home”), including 1) spells for safe and successful building conditions, 2) spells to bring joy and prosperity to a home’s inhabitants, and 3) even a spell to craft the twin of one home in another location.

Amber Benson will be a guest at Twin Cities Con in Minneapolis this November

Exciting news for fans, earlier today (UK time), Amber released a video on her official Facebook and Instagram accounts confirming that she will be a guest at the upcoming Twin Cities Con.

The convention offers the chance to meet actors from film and television, authors, comic book artists, and more. Amber will be joined by her friend and fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Clare Kramer. Eric Balfour, who played the role of Jesse, a character at the very beginning of Buffy, is also attending, having a number of other film and TV credits to his name.

Twin Cities Con is being held in Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Convention Center, located at 1301 Second Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55403, and will take place between Friday, the 7th, to Sunday, the 9th of November 2025.

Finding Dad: A Family History Mystery written by Amber Benson to Be Shown on UK TV Friday the 22nd of August.

Here is some exciting news for fans living in the UK. Finding Dad: A Family History Mystery written by Amber Benson is being shown on UK TV on Friday the 22nd of August.

In 2023 Amber added to her growing body of work as a writer for television when she wrote the script for Family History Mysteries: Buried Past which is based on a series of novels by Brynn Bonner. Family History Mysteries: Buried Past had its US premiere on the 8th of January which as many fans will know is Amber's birthday. It was shown in the US on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

It's now set to be shown again in the UK on Friday under its UK title of Finding Dad: A Family History Mystery.

The story centres on Sophie McClaren played by Janel Parrish who is a genealogist. She brings families together using her expertise and ability to dig into the past to find answers. Sophie's skills and knowledge shall be tested like never before when she discovers her close friend Jonathan is in need of a bone marrow transplant. Help is on hand from Jonathan's twin brother Jackson who also happens to be Sophie's ex. Together Sophie and Jackson search for the twins birth father in a bid to save Jonathan. As Sophie and Jackson work together it gives her the push to finally look into her own past.

It will be shown on 5 (formally Channel 5) in the UK on Friday afternoon at 2:20 PM it will also be shown an hour later on 5+1 at 3:20 PM. When it has been shown previously it has also been available for a limited time on 5 streaming service previously known as (My5). This is a free streaming service supported by adverts and it is available to view through several different devices. These include, smart phones, tablets, laptop, desktop computer, smart TV etc

Amber has written for Hallmark on three previous occasions including Murder in Mind & Death By Design two movies in the popular Morning Show Mysteries series. They were based on a series of novels by Al Roker and Dick Lochte. Amber also wrote the festive romantic movie A Family Christmas Gift this was an original story written by Amber and she also co-wrote the teleplay.

It's so exciting to see Amber’s latest TV mystery being shown again in the UK I can’t wait to watch it!

Amber Benson is returning to the UK in September as a guest at Wales Comic Con

Amber is set to return to the UK this September as a guest at Wales Comic Con. She will be joined by a host of actors from a range of popular TV and film franchises. There are also writers from various entertainment media and animators attending, along with stars of anime and gaming.

Amber confirmed her plans to attend via her official Instagram account. She also talked about them directly to fans during an Instagram live. That was part of an online autograph signing event via Streamily at the end of June. Sharing her excitement that she will be joined by her friend and fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star, Emma Caulfield, in the UK this autumn.

At this point, I must apologise for the length of time it has taken me to publish this exciting news on the site. It's been a much busier summer than I expected with work and other commitments too. I pride myself on sharing news like this with fans as soon as I can, and I've fallen short on this occasion.

The schedule for Wales Comic Con has not yet been released, but we do know there will be autograph signings and photo shoots with Amber and other stars. You can even pre-order both autographs and photographs now via their website. Amber and Emma will also be doing a joint photo shoot, which is perfect if you're a Buffy fan like me.

Wales Comic Con is in a new venue this time around at the Llangollen Pavilion, near Wrexham in North Wales. The event itself will be held on Saturday, the 20th, and Sunday, the 21st of September 2025.

Amber Benson to Hold a Virtual Signing Session via Streamily on Friday the 27th of June 2025

Exciting news for fans as online platform Streamily has announced that Amber will once again be participating in a live online autograph signing session for fans next week. Streamily has also said that Amber is donating a portion of the proceeds directly to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

They provide a range of support to members of the LGBTQIA+ Community including housing, healthcare, legal aid, and mental health support to people of all ages. For more information about their full range of services, visit their website click here.

If you’re hearing about Streamily for the first time here is what you need to know: It’s an online platform that allows fans to buy a photo which Amber will then sign whilst on a live stream so fans can tune in and watch. The team at Streamily will then post your autograph to you. They will send items internationally as well, so you have the opportunity to get a personalised Amber autograph and watch the signing session, wherever you are.

It’s important to note however that Streamily does state that not all items are guaranteed to be signed live on the camera. However, there is a Priority Signing option and a family membership package that can be purchased to ensure your item is signed on the live stream.

The signing will take place on Friday the 27th of June at 7pm here in the UK and 11am PST in the USA. The live stream of the signing session itself will take place on Amber’s official Instagram which is @rebma_nosneb. This also means that you can log in and watch with fellow Amber fans even if you don't purchase an autograph.

It's also important to mention that as part of her Streamily store, Amber has some pre signed autographs for sale. If you want one signed to you personally select a photo with the “Signed On Livestream” banner on it. This does not guarantee it will be signed on the stream itself unless you have selected one of the VIP or priority options. Amber Benson to participate in a panel at Hellmouth Con 2025 - This Weekend

Earlier this week Amber revealed on her official Instagram account that she will be participating in a panel at Hellmouth Con 2025 on Saturday, the 14th of June.

Hellmouth Con is an LA base convention dedicated to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Amber played the much-loved character of Tara Maclay. In recent years Amber has transitioned from acting to writing and has written novels, as well as writing for film and television. She has also written and co-written a number of Buffy related projects including, comic books, short stories and the Audible exclusive audio drama Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.

In this exciting panel Amber will be discussing genre literature, female protagonists and the process of turning a book into an audiobook. She will be joined by friend and fellow author Raven Belasco.

Raven’s name may well be familiar to fans and regular visitors to this site as Amber has narrated the audiobook versions of Blood Ex Libris and Blood Demands the first two books in Raven’s Blood and Ancient Scrolls series. Amber and Raven's panel will take place on Saturday, the 14th of June 3pm-3:55 pm PDT in the auditorium. If you would like more information about Raven's books, click here.

Hellmouth Con is being held at Torrance High School located at 2200 W. Carson St. Torrance, CA 90501. The event is being organised by Fandom Charities Inc a nonprofit organisation that brings fans together and raises money for good causes.
