Chance
In 2002 Amber was starring in the hit TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer earning her praise and fans alike. Amber however was keen to demonstrate her full range of talents and take a challenge that would give her full creative control. So at just 24 Amber wrote, directed, produced and starred in Chance a full length film that was self-financed.
Chance (Amber) is a “conscientious objector in the game of life” who is our narrator and using a series of flashbacks and journeys into her imagination we follow her romantic misadventures as she looks for love. When she visits a club one night Chance thinks she finally may have found “Mr Right” in the shape of Jack played by the late great Andy Hallett. Andy is perhaps best known for playing the role of Lorne in Joss Whedon’s hit Buffy spin-off Angel but will her charms win Jack over? Chance’s roommate Simon (James Marsters) is a down trodden nice guy stuck in a boring job but hoping that one day he’ll finally win an argument with Chance who just loves to harass him. If you think Chance is a little unusual wait until you meet her family and friends. In particular her mother Desiree played wonderfully by Christine Estabrook.
A superb cast brings Amber's script to life with a mix of original art provided by Amber’s sister Danielle together with a selection of songs by musician Grant Langston amongst others. All of these elements combine to ensure Chance has a unique and totally original feel it is a funny non-linear ride it also is has heart and asks some honest questions about love.
