Amber Now Unable To Attend Signing Event For Mine! Comic Book Collection In Los Angeles Tonight

Sadly Amber is no longer able to attend the signing event for Mine! Comic Book Collection. Taking place at A Shop Called Quest in Los Angeles tonight.

Amber co-wrote a story with her friend and fellow author Sarah Kuhn illustrated by Sina Grace which is part of Mine! Comic Book Collection. Amber, Sarah and Sina are among a number of writers and illustrators to lend their talents to Mine! which is produced in support of Planned Parenthood. They provide family planning advice and essential women's healthcare services throughout the United States. Mine! is partially funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign.

Sina confirmed a little while ago via a video posted on his official Twitter account that sadly Amber is no longer able to attend click here. However both he and Sarah are still attending and the signing will go ahead from 5-8 PM tonight at:

Clueless: One Last Summer Graphic Novel By Amber Benson & Sarah Kuhn Announced!

In the summer of 2017 Boom Studios! released Clueless: Senior Year graphic novel co written by Amber Benson and her friend and fellow author Sarah Kuhn illustrated by Siobhan Keenan. Clueless: Senior Year is the follow-up to Amy Heckerling’s hit 1995 movie Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone. Amber and Sarah’s all-new and original story is an opportunity for fans of the movie to follow the ups and downs of Cher, Dionne and Tai during their final year of high school.

Earlier this month in an interview with Shockya.com Amber revealed she and Sarah were working on a sequel. On 27th of February website publishersweekly.com announced the sequel will be released in autumn/fall of 2018. Titled Clueless: One Last Summer that will see Cher, Dionne, and Tai embark on one last summer adventure before heading to college. In this all-new and original story that will again be illustrated by Siobhan Keenan.

Amber To Attend A Signing Event For Mine! Comic Book Collection In Los Angeles Tomorrow (28/2/18/)

There was exciting news for fans today as Amber revealed via her official Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts that she will be attending a signing for the Mine! Comic Book Collection in Los Angeles tomorrow. (28/2/18/) As many Amber fans and regular visitors to the site will know last year Amber teamed up with her friends Sarah Kuhn and Sina Grace to co-write and illustrate a brand-new comic book story to be part of the Mine! Comic Book Collection.

In September 2017 pop culture website ComicMix.com concluded a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund Mine! A comic book collection in support of Planned Parenthood which provides family planning advice and essential women's healthcare services throughout the United States. It decided to bring together top comic book talent to produce a brand-new comic book collection called Mine! Then use all the proceeds from sales of this collection to support the organisation. Amber, Sarah and Sina were among a number of talented writers and illustrators to lend their support to the project.

Amber has worked with both Sarah and Sina before. Sarah co-authored Clueless: Senior Year graphic novel with Amber who recently revealed in an interview with shockya.com that they are currently working on a sequel. Amber starred in Sina’s semi-autobiographical web series Self-Obsessed and Sina was the illustrator for Amber's children's book Among The Ghosts.

Amber, Sarah and Sina will all be attending the signing event tomorrow (28/2/18/) held at:

Amber Is A Guest On The Switchblade Sisters Podcast

Last Thursday Amber was the guest on the Switchblade Sisters podcast. In each episode film critic April Wolfe invites a female actor, writer, director or producer to discuss one of their favourite action or genre films. As Amber has all of these credits to her name she was an ideal guest. Amber's chosen film was 1980s horror classic Night Of The Comet. It had a big impact on her at an early age in part due to it having two young female protagonists Amber and April talk about the film’s key messages and themes and much more.

They also delve into filmmaking and how Amber made her first self financed film Chance which she wrote and directed as well as playing the title role opposite former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co star James Marsters. Amber also discusses her role of Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her 5 book Calliope Reaper-Jones series of novels. I think Calliope is a fantastic character and I love the world Amber created. They also discuss the need for female characters to be both complex and at times flawed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast, it's an absolute must listen for any Amber fan. Her enthusiasm for writing and creating shines through and she's funny, honest and insightful. I'll be honest I hadn't even heard of Night Of the Comet before listening to this podcast but I was so intrigued I ordered the film online so I could watch it myself.

Amber Is A Guest On The Shock Waves Podcast

Earlier this month Amber was a guest on Blumhouse’s Shock Waves Podcast. It's taken me longer than I would have liked to get this update online. I had a busy few days of work and study I am only now catching up. The good news is there's still time to listen to this funny and entertaining podcast.

This all-female episode is hosted by Rebekah McKendry guests include Shock Waves regular Brea Grant, Mali Elfman, Ciara Aumentado and the amazing Amber Benson of course. In this episode the panel talk about witches, witchcraft and their memories and feelings about witches growing up. They also look at the way they are portrayed on film, television and the media at large. They discuss the rise of escape rooms and whether a particular one is full of moustaches. It's worth listening just for that part trust me on this. There is also some excellent film recommendations in there too and Amber is as always smart, honest and very funny.

Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer Written By Amber Benson To Have It’s UK Premiere On The 11th of February

In September 2017, it was revealed that Amber has written Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer a new movie for the Lifetime Network. Lifetime UK have now confirmed that it will have its UK premiere on Sunday, the 11th of February at 9pm.

Earlier in her career Amber starred in two original movies for the Lifetime Network playing Danni Hartford in a fun festive film Holiday Wishes and Lori Madison in the romantic comedy 7 Things To Do Before I’m 30, still one of my favourite movies starring Amber.

Her latest work for the Lifetime Network is very different as she steps behind the camera to write the script for Blade Runner Killer. A movie which looks at the life of former Paralympic Champion and Olympic competitor Oscar Pistorius. A double leg amputee who learned to run using metal blades and conquered the track at Paralympic level and went on to compete in the Olympics.

The movie looks at the relationship between Oscar and model Reeva Steenkamp leading up to the fateful events on Valentine's Day night 2013 when Reeva was tragically shot to death in Pistorius's home.

The movie also examines the trial that gripped South Africa and the world. Oscar was convicted of culpable homicide (manslaughter). Later following an appeal he was retried and convicted of murder. On the 24th of November 2017 The South African Supreme Court increased his sentence by a further 13 years and 5 months. South Africa's National Prosecuting Agency described the original 6 year murder sentence handed down by original trial judge Thokozile Masipa as "shockingly too lenient".

I have found very little information on the Lifetime UK website. Lifetime’s UK TV Channel is available on Sky channel 156, Virgin channels 208/209, BT channel 329 and TalkTalk channel 329.

Dark Delicacies Are Offering House Of Demons DVDs Signed By Amber As Part Of An Upcoming Event

Dark Delicacies of Burbank California is holding a special signing event for House of Demons a brand new horror movie starring Amber Benson as Maya. Writer and director Patrick Meaney will be joined by cast members:

Tiffany Smith
Dove Meir
Jeff Torres
Whitney Moore
Kaytlin Borgen

They will be signing copies for fans, as far as we know Amber is unable to attend the event in person but will be pre-signing copies of the DVD for fans to purchase.

The event will take place on Saturday, 17th of February at 4 PM in Dark Delicacies store located at:

Even if like me you can't attend the signing in person fear not you can still get your hands on a signed DVD ordering via Dark Delicacies website using the link above. They will ship across the US and to the UK. I'm not sure about postage to other countries my advice would be to email them and ask. I have ordered many books and DVDs from them in the past and I’ve always received friendly, helpful service. It is our understanding that as Amber is pre-signing copies of the DVD there is a limited supply available. We hope everyone who is able to attend the event has a fantastic time.
