Amber Is The Special Guest On Episode 72 of CRUSHED Podcast

A few days ago Amber revealed via her official Twitter account that she was the special guest in the latest episode of CRUSHED podcast with Sarah Morisano. In each episode Sarah asks her special guests for their views on crushes as well as talking about their career and current projects.

Amber reveals her first crush and the differences between "romantic and friend crushes" she talks about her career highlights including playing Tara Maclay on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and working for Steven Soderbergh on King of the Hill. Sarah and Amber also discuss signings and conventions and what it's like on both sides of the table. Amber talks about her future projects including some really exciting news, potentially taking her The Witches of Echo Park series of novels from the page to the screen and much more.

Amber Narrates The Audiobook Version Of The Pandora Room Out Now In The USA

Earlier this year Amber told her fans via her official Facebook page that she would be narrating the audiobook version of The Pandora Room by Christopher Golden. Amber and Christopher have been friends and collaborators for many years, together they co-wrote Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow and Tara: "Wilderness” and “Wannablessedbe” a 2 part comic book. The Ghosts of Albion web series for the BBC featuring demon fighting siblings William and Tamara Swift.

They went on to write a novella and 2 full novels in which the Swifts continue their fight against evil. Christopher and Amber also wrote the radio drama Lights Out, a chilling tale set inside a women's prison. This was part of the BBC's Man in Black series. Now Amber has lent her vocal talents to the audiobook version of The Pandora Room.

The Pandora Room audiobook was recently released in the USA published by Macmillan Audio and available via audible.com. Unfortunately for Amber fans in the UK myself included The Pandora Room is not currently available for sale here. Publishers Macmillan audio confirmed to me via my personal Twitter account that sadly they have no plans for a UK release saying:

“unfortunately, there are no current plans for a UK release. However, there is always the possibility that a UK publisher will want to pick it up in the future. Thanks so much for your support of The Pandora Room and of audiobooks!”

I have also contacted audible.co.uk directly and they have confirmed the audiobook is not available in the UK at this time. The customer services representative that I spoke to did however give me an email address through which people can request audiobooks they would like to buy. I emailed them and have left the address below in the hope that other UK based fans will join me in emailing them. You never know they may decide to make it available to us.

Amber at Clexacon 2019 - Tara Maclay and The Legacy of Buffy Panel and Behind-The-Scenes Videos.

Last weekend Amber was one of the special guests at ClexaCon 2019 in Las Vegas. ClexaCon is the first and largest multi-fandom event that aims to bring together LGBTQ fans, allies and content creators to celebrate positive representations of LGBTQ women in media. Amber was the special guest on a panel called: Tara Maclay and The Legacy of Buffy.

Amber discusses the impact of Tara and Willow's relationship and the positive impact it had on society. As well as the many letters and messages over the years that both she and Alyson (Willow) received from fans saying how much seeing a LGBTQ couple on screen helped them. Amber talks about her working relationship with Joss Whedon, “Hush” and “Family” also she gives her honest opinion on Tara's departure from Buffy and much more. Amber also takes questions from the audience. This is a really enjoyable panel, a must see for fans and there is some really exciting news from Amber regarding her latest projects.

There is good news for fans who were unable to be there in person. ClexaCon have released two videos the first is Amber behind-the-scenes as she prepares to take the stage. The second is the full Tara Maclay and The Legacy of Buffy Panel. I've embedded both videos below so you can watch them, they are an absolute must watch for Amber fans.

Amber Will Be Appearing Alongside Seanan Maguire In A Special Event At Mysterious Galaxy Book Store Next Month

Amber confirmed early this morning (UK time) that she will be appearing in a special event alongside her friend and fellow author Seanan Maguire. The event is being held to celebrate the release of Seanan Maguire’s upcoming novel The Middlegame at Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore in San Diego.

Seanan and Amber will be appearing together and talking to fans. This is a ticketed event and does include a copy of The Middlegame.

Amber recently confirmed via a video on her official Twitter account that she has narrated the audiobook version of the Middlegame. There was some exciting news for Amber fans heading to ClexaCon in Las Vegas this weekend. It has been announced via Twitter that Amber will be the special guest in a live version of Lez Hang Out Podcast. The live show in front of an audience will take place on Friday 12th of April in The Dorothy Arsner Room at 4:15pm. To view their original tweet click here.

Lez Hang Out Live will take place as part of CLEXACON. This is the first and largest multi-fandom event that aims to bring together LGBTQ fans, allies and content creators to celebrate positive representations of LGBTQ women in media.

Amber was recently a guest at the Lexington Comic & Toy Con in Lexington, Kentucky USA just over a week ago. I always try to let fellow Amber fans know about her appearances unfortunately I didn't see any information on this beforehand.

The good news however is that Amber was a guest on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer panel and Lexington Comic & Toy Fair have shared the video on their official Facebook page.

Amber was joined by fellow guests and her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-stars, Emma Caulfield, James C. Leary and James Marsters. The group talked about their upcoming projects and answered questions from the audience about their time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
