Dark Duets is not cancelled that was the message from acclaimed author Christopher Golden who has edited the book.
If you're a regular visitor to AmberBenson.TV you will most likely have seen my earlier posts about the upcoming book Dark Duets but if not here is a quick recap. Dark Duets is a brand-new collection of short stories penned by some of horror and fantasy fiction’s best talent including Amber of course. As the title of the book suggests each of the stories is a collaboration between two of the authors involved non of whom have written together before. On this occasion Amber has worked with Jeffrey J. Mariotte (he also writes under the name of Jeff Mariotte) and their story is titled AMUSE-BOUCHE.
A few days ago Christopher took to his official Twitter and Facebook accounts in an attempt to clear up some confusion regarding the release of the book and state that it has not been cancelled.
As this is a very important issue and could affect the success of the book I thought Christopher should fully explain the situation in his own words. I'm also going to post the direct URL to the post itself underneath.
“Assistance needed--if you're connected with a bookstore, please pass along that DARK DUETS is *not* canceled. Apparently there is some confusion because it was originally announced as a hardcover and will now be a trade paperback. Distributors are notifying stores that the hardcover is canceled without explaining that it's been replaced by the trade. This could be very detrimental to sales, so any help spreading the word to stores is deeply appreciated.”
