Exciting news for UK fans as Shevenge (a short film) directed by Amber Benson is now available in the UK via Amazon Video platform.

Released in 2015 Shevenge was completed with the help of fans and film enthusiasts, myself included, who backed an Indiegogo.com crowd funding campaign to raise funds to complete postproduction.

The film centers on three friends Sam (Emme Rylan), Charley (Jessica Courtemanche) and Taylor (Megan Lee Joy) who while having a slumber party begin plotting revenge on their ex-boyfriends. We then join them on a journey into the darkest part of their imagination as they take Shevenge on each one of them. This dark comedy pays homage to favourite film genres including horror, fantasy and action.

Following a number of successful screenings in the USA the Shevenge team took it to London for its UK debut at the Film4 Fright Fest Film Festival in August 2015.

Earlier this year Shevenge was made available to own digitally in the UK via Amazon Video platform. Now there is more good news for Amber fans who have an Amazon Prime membership, Shevenge is available to stream for free as part of your membership.

Shevenge was released as part of the second season of Etheria horror, an anthology celebrating the work of female directors and other roles both in front of and behind the camera. Shevenge is among 10 short films set in the horror or sci-fi genres.

Amazon Video is available online via computer, smart devices, games consoles and smart TVs. For full details on how to purchase Etheria Season 2 or Shevenge individually or view as part of your Prime Video Membership click the link below:

I'd like to thank fellow Amber fan Samantha for giving me a heads up about this so I can let you all know.

I'm thrilled that Shevenge is part of Etheria Season 2, congratulations to Amber, Emme, Jessica, Megan and all of the cast and crew. It's fantastic that Shevenge is now available to an even bigger audience both here in the UK and in the USA and I can't wait to watch it again.

Amber Is A Guest On The Switchblade Sisters Podcast

Last Thursday Amber was the guest on the Switchblade Sisters podcast. In each episode film critic April Wolfe invites a female actor, writer, director or producer to discuss one of their favourite action or genre films. As Amber has all of these credits to her name she was an ideal guest. Amber's chosen film was 1980s horror classic Night Of The Comet. It had a big impact on her at an early age in part due to it having two young female protagonists Amber and April talk about the film’s key messages and themes and much more.

They also delve into filmmaking and how Amber made her first self financed film Chance which she wrote and directed as well as playing the title role opposite former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co star James Marsters. It's a wonderful film and to find out more click the hyperlink to visit our dedicated Chance page. Amber also discusses her role of Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her 5 book Calliope Reaper-Jones series of novels. I think Calliope is a fantastic character and I love the world Amber created. To find out more please visit our visit our dedicated Calliope Reaper-Jones section by clicking the hyperlink above. They also discuss the need for female characters to be both complex and at times flawed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast, it's an absolute must listen for any Amber fan. Her enthusiasm for writing and creating shines through and she's funny, honest and insightful. I'll be honest I hadn't even heard of Night Of the Comet before listening to this podcast but I was so intrigued I ordered the film online so I could watch it myself.

Switchblade Sisters podcast is available for free by clicking the link below and hitting the play button, it’s also available via Apple podcasts.
