Earlier this week Amber was the special guest in the latest episode of the Sis & Tell podcast. This weekly podcast is hosted by sisters Alison Goldstein Lebovitz (PBS' The A List) and comedian Amanda Goldstein Marks who like Amber grew up in Birmingham Alabama. Amanda and Amber had been childhood friends growing up so Amanda invited her on to the podcast for a catch up and luckily for Amber fans everywhere we got to listen too.

Amber reminisces about growing up in Birmingham and how she got her start in the entertainment industry and her career as an actor. Her time as Tara Maclay on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the importance of Willow and Tara’s relationship and the letters and support she and co-star Alyson Hannigan (Willow) received from the LGBTQ community.

Amber talks about her love of reading, her career as a novelist and a recent transition into writing for film and television. They discuss the up coming movie Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer which Amber has written for the Lifetime network (click the hyperlink above for more details) and touch upon some of the other projects she is currently working on and much more.

Sis & Tell Podcast is available to download/listen to for free on: Stitcher, iTunes, Google Play and via the Sis & Tell website at the link below:

This is an engaging and thoroughly enjoyable interview, a must listen for any Amber fans and the perfect way for me to start my holiday.

Amber Has Written Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer A Movie For Lifetime

There was exciting news for Amber fans when it was revealed last week that she has written Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer a new movie for the Lifetime Network.

Earlier in her career Amber starred in two original movies for the Lifetime Network playing Danni Hartford in a fun festive film Holiday Wishes and Lori Madison in the romantic comedy 7 Things To Do Before I’m 30, still one of my favourite movies starring Amber.

Her latest work for the Lifetime Network is very different as she steps behind the camera to write the script for the Blade Runner Killer. A film which looks at the life of former Paralympic Champion and Olympic competitor Oscar Pistorius. A double leg amputee who learned to run using metal blades who conquered the track at Paralympic level and also competed in the Olympics. He had a seemingly storybook romance with model Reeva Steenkamp who’s life was tragically ended on Valentine's Day 2013 when she was shot to death in Pistorius's home.

The movie is told from the point of view of Reeva Steenkamp and her mother. Following the alleged events of that fateful night and the subsequent court case as he was convicted of her manslaughter. He is due to face a South African Supreme Court again as authorities appeal the length of his six-year sentence on the grounds that it is too lenient.

Entertainment website Deadline.com is reporting that Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer will have its world TV premiere on 11th of November at 8 PM on Lifetime. Click here to view an article from Deadline.com for more information about the film. Sadly at the moment there is no information as to when the film will have a UK premiere but we hope that it will be soon.

Everyone at AmberBenson.TV is delighted that Amber has been given this opportunity and we wish her every success with this project.

Author Christopher Golden recently announced a new book Don’t Go Alone containing a collection of short stories he has written with top authors including Charlaine Harris, Tim Lebbon, Mike Mignola, James A. Moore, Thomas Sniegoski and of course Amber Benson.

Christopher and Amber are friends and have a long-standing working relationship. In 2001 the pair co wrote Buffy The Vampire Slayer: “Wilderness” & “Wannablessedbe” a two part comic book focusing on the characters Willow & Tara. Published by Dark Horse Comics and in 2003 was re-released as a graphic novel called Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow and Tara.

In 2002 the pair co wrote and developed The Ghosts of Albion an online animated series that was made for the BBC. Due to the popularity of the series, a novella and two full-length novels were published chronicling the continuing adventures of the central characters William and Tamara Swift. For more information on the series check out our dedicated page by clicking the link below.

They also wrote supernatural novella Seven Whistlers with was recently released in paperback for the first time along with Lights Out a radio drama made for the BBC.

At the moment there is no news on which of their collaborations will be included in Don't Go Alone or if they have written a brand-new story. Don't Go Alone will make its debut at Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival and be released on 21st of October 2017.

I will post an update when we find out more about Don't Go Alone.

The event is being held tomorrow (the 6th of September 2017) between 6 PM - 8 PM PDT. Both Amber and Sarah are due to attend and will be signing and chatting to fans. They will be joined by Siobhan Keenan who did a superb job as the illustrator of Clueless Senior Year.

The address of The Comic Bug where the event is being held is:

I posted information about this event on our own Facebook and Twitter accounts but I also wanted to share it here in the Latest Amber News section of the site to help spread the word. Due to work commitments I wasn't able to post it here as quickly as I would have liked.
