Great news after a successful kickstarter campaign Morganville the web TV series which stars Amber Benson will now go into production later this year. The campaign came to an end on 11 July reaching an impressive total of $81,752 smashing its $75,000 funding target.
For those who haven't had an opportunity to check out my previous blog posts and are not familiar with the Morganville vampires series here is a recap.
Morganville the web TV series is an adaption of Rachel Caine’s bestselling series of novels. The story is set in the fictitious Texas town of Morganville which is unique because it is owned, ran and operated entirely by vampires. The series currently spans 15 novels but despite this success it has never being adapted for television or film. Rachel decided it was time for this to change and the time was right to take the world of Morganville from page to screen. The success of the kickstarter campaign means that six TV quality webisodes of approximately 10 min each will now be made written by Rachel herself. The series will be produced and directed by Blake Calhoun responsible for a number of successful web series including Pink the Series. The great news for every fan of Amber Benson is that she will be playing the role of Morganville town founder Amelie.
Rachel is now hard at work finishing the scripts for each episode and now the full funding has been secured casting for the remaining roles in the series will take place in the near future.
