Amber is to be a guest at the PRISM Convention held at Niagara Falls New York in June 2025

The holiday season is fast approaching whether you are celebrating Thanksgiving or, like myself here in the UK, preparing for Christmas. Amber, however is already looking ahead to next year and has confirmed that she will be a guest at PRISM Convention in 2025.

Amber broke the news on her official Instagram and Facebook accounts a few weeks ago and we shared the information on our own dedicated social media feeds too. I also wanted to post an article here with some more information about the convention plus how you can book tickets and more.

The organisers ConFuzed Events LLC describe the PRISM Convention as follows:

“PRISM convention is a brand-new multi-fandom event, celebrating LGBTQ+ characters from the worlds of television and film. Along with influencers, singers, and comedians. Join us for a weekend of meet and greets, photo opportunities, autographs, and interview panels with your favorite celebrities!”

PRISM Convention will take place from the 27th to the 29th of June 2025 in Niagara Falls New York. The convention is being held at Niagara Falls Convention Center (NFCC), 101 Old Falls Street Niagara Falls, NY 14303. The organisers have confirmed it is being held on the US side of Niagara Falls.

Amber Benson is to attend a signing in Los Angeles on Sunday, the 17th of November

Last month saw the release of ‘Shadows & Verse Classic Dark Poems with Celebrity Commentary’ edited by Jonathan Maberry. This is a collection of classic poems focusing on darkness in many different forms including grief and loss, PTSD, the unknown, and much more.

Each of these poems has been chosen by a writer and celebrity who has written an accompanying essay talking about why they have chosen this classic poem and what it means to them.

To celebrate the recent release of this unique collection Dark Delicacies bookstore in Burbank California is holding a signing event. Amber is set to attend along with a number of her fellow contributors to this exciting collection.

Amber Benson will be part of an event at Vroman’s Bookstore in LA Tomorrow

If you live in or around the Los Angeles area, here's some exciting news for you. Amber will be hosting a conversation with fellow author Kate Stayman-London, and they will be discussing Kate's newly released novel ‘Fang Fiction’.

The novel centres on a New York hotel manager who loves nothing more than spending time lost in the pages of her favourite supernatural romance novel until that world becomes all too real.

Amber recently narrated the audiobook version of Fang Fiction, which was released on October 1st. It is available now via the Audible platform. For more information, you can click here to visit my earlier article to find out more options for adding it to your Audible library.

Amber to be a guest on a panel in LA later today

If you live in or around Los Angeles, then here is an exciting update for you

Amber will be a guest at a panel discussing Heidi Honeycutt’s new book ‘I Spit On Your Celluloid - The history of women directing horror movies.’

Heidi is a journalist, film programmer and producer, and in this book, she looks at the history of female filmmakers within the horror genre.

To celebrate the book's publication, there will be a panel and a signing event. This will be held at Dark Delicacies Bookstore in LA today (10 August 2024) at 3 PM local time.

Amber will be a guest at the panel and may also be signing copies herself. As many fans will know, as an actor, Amber has starred in numerous horror movies and short films. She also directed Shevenge, a horror short movie in 2015.

The book contains interviews and articles on female filmmakers, and I suspect Amber may well be one of Heidi's interview subjects. I haven't been able to get my own copy yet, so I can't confirm this for you.

Regular visitors to the site will know that I try to be as thorough as possible when writing an update. I found out about this event yesterday and due to work and personal commitments it delayed me in posting this on the site. I like to give fellow fans as much notice as possible sadly I couldn't on this occasion but I wanted to post an update to help get the word out to any Amber fans living in LA.

Here’s some exciting news for fans in the USA: It was recently revealed that Amber will be heading back to the Sunshine State this September as a guest at FANBOY EXPO Orlando.

The Expo features autograph sessions, photo-ops and guest question-and-answer panels across the three-day event. It will take place from Friday the 6th to Sunday the 8th of September 2024. According to information currently available (correct at the time of publication) Amber is set to attend all three days.

The Making of Slayers: A Buffyverse Story - A Behind The Scenes Look at The New Audible Series Co-written, Co-directed and Starring Amber Benson.

Slayers: A Buffyverse Story an Audible Original Podcast was released on Thursday, the 12th of October. Now Audible have released a video which takes you behind the scenes of this hugely exciting series.

This immersive audio drama has been co-written by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden who have been friends and writing partners for many years. They also co-direct it along with Kc Wayland.

Amber also returns to play Tara Maclay for the first time in more than twenty years. A character that has meant so much to so many fans all over the world. Amber is joined by a host of friends and former co-stars along with Buffy newcomer Laya DeLeon Hays as Indira Nunnally.

That is until sixteen year old Indira Nunnally who has recently inherited her slayer powers, accidentally blows his cover story. Now he must find a Watcher to guide her. That's when their paths collide with a Slayer from a parallel reality, a world where Buffy Summers never existed and she is the one and only Slayer, none other than Cordelia Chase. She is seeking help as a “Big Bad” is threatening her reality, non-other than Spike’s former love interest Drusilla.

In this brilliant behind-the-scenes feature cameras are there to film the cast as they record the series. We see Amber in her role as Tara alongside her fellow cast members also in her role as co-director. She also shares her thoughts on her role in creating this audio drama and what it's like to work with friends and former co-stars again.

Amber Benson and Christopher Golden Interviewed by Six Degrees Of Geek at New York Comic Con

Recently Amber Benson appeared at New York Comic Con with co-writer Christopher Golden and the cast of Slayers: A Buffyverse Story which is an Audible Original series out now.

If you're just hearing about Slayers: A Buffyverse Story for the first time this is what you need to know. Slayers: A Buffyverse Story is an immersive audio drama set 13 years after Chosen the finale of the ground-breaking TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Amber co-wrote the drama with her friend and long-time writing partner Christopher Golden. They both co-directed the series along with Kc Wayland.

The cast features several of the shows original cast members each returning to their characters they played on Buffy. This includes Amber herself who for the first time in more than 20 years again plays the role of Tara Maclay.

At New York Comic Con which took place between the 12th-15th of October Amber and Christopher were interviewed by Six Degrees Of Geek. They discussed the process of making an audio drama and how their experience of making Ghosts of Albion which was an animated online series for the BBC helped them on their journey.

Amber and Christopher discussed how they brought the cast together and why they felt it was important to include the characters they had chosen, what it's like to work with audio as a medium and much more.

Slayers: A Buffyverse Story was co-written, co-directed and stars Amber Benson as Tara Maclay. Amber wrote this all-new original story with her long-time friend and writing partner Christopher Golden. Amber has also assembled friends and former co-stars all of whom are returning to play their much-loved characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. An Afternoon With Authors Event Featuring Amber Benson Live Stream Cancelled

Amber Benson is due to participate in an event called An Afternoon With Authors held in Los Angeles today, 26th August.

The event was due to have a Live Stream which would have allowed digital ticket holders from all over the world to be part of the event. Unfortunately just minutes after I posted my original update I received an e-mail from the event organisers to say the Live Stream portion of the event has now been cancelled.

The e-mail I received stated digital tickets had already been refunded and this should be processed in 3-5 days. The organisers have apologised for what they describe as a “last minute change of plans.”

An Afternoon With Authors Event will still go ahead for those who have in person tickets in Los Angeles.

The panel is scheduled to last for 90 minutes and Amber and Co will discuss their work as both writers and actors, their creative processes and the strikes which are currently affecting writers and actors across the United States. Founded in 1882 with the aim of supporting actors and others working within the entertainment industry.

An Afternoon With Authors is being held at Dynasty Typewriter Theatre which is located at 2511 Wiltshire Blvd 900 57 Los Angeles California. With a start time of 4 PM PDT.

All tickets are marked as general admission but there are some at higher price points for those who would like to donate more to the Entertainment Community Fund.
