An Afternoon With Authors Event Featuring Amber Benson Live Stream Cancelled

Amber Benson is due to participate in an event called An Afternoon With Authors held in Los Angeles today, 26th August.

The event was due to have a Live Stream which would have allowed digital ticket holders from all over the world to be part of the event. Unfortunately just minutes after I posted my original update I received an e-mail from the event organisers to say the Live Stream portion of the event has now been cancelled.

The e-mail I received stated digital tickets had already been refunded and this should be processed in 3-5 days. The organisers have apologised for what they describe as a “last minute change of plans.”

An Afternoon With Authors Event will still go ahead for those who have in person tickets in Los Angeles.

In case you missed my original post and live in Los Angeles here is some more information about the event.

Dana Schwartz
Jordan Morris

The panel is scheduled to last for 90 minutes and Amber and Co will discuss their work as both writers and actors, their creative processes and the strikes which are currently affecting writers and actors across the United States. "An Afternoon With Authors" is being supported by Orphan Books and the net proceeds are also being donated to the Entertainment Community Fund. Founded in 1882 with the aim of supporting actors and others working within the entertainment industry.

An Afternoon With Authors is being held at Dynasty Typewriter Theatre which is located at 2511 Wiltshire Blvd 900 57 Los Angeles California. With a start time of 4 PM PDT.

At the time of publication there are still tickets available for those who want to attend in person. All tickets are marked as general admission but there are some at higher price points for those who would like to donate more to the Entertainment Community Fund. It is really disappointing news that the Live Stream has been cancelled as I was looking forward to being part of the event. I hope those fans who are still able to attend have a fantastic time.

The really exciting news is that Amber fans around the world will have an opportunity to be there virtually, as a live stream is available so fans can join in the event from wherever they are in the world.

Amber Benson’s Virtual Streamily Signing Session Continued

Last Sunday the 9th of July Amber held a virtual autograph signing session via On-line platform Streamily. Unfortunately, some autographs could not be signed on the day. These were for fans who had selected the priority option or VIP package, (more details on these below).

Not wanting to disappoint fans Amber has kindly agreed to hold another session to sign the outstanding autographs. Amber has also kept her Streamily store open to allow anyone else the opportunity to get their very own autograph. Last Sunday the session was streamed live on both Amber’s (@rebma_nosneb) and Clare’s (clarekramerofficial) Instagram accounts.

On their website Steamily has stated the signing session will take place on Sunday 16th July at 8pm UK time, which is 12pm PDT in the USA. This time has not been confirmed by Amber herself yet. I wanted to post the information now to give fans more time to order autographs if they wish and I will update the article as soon as the date is confirmed.

Amber’s friend and fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Clare Kramer hosted the session on Sunday with Amber and she indicated that she would again host this second session.

The Streamily online platform gives fans the opportunity to buy a photo which Amber will then sign whilst on a live stream so fans can tune in and watch. The team at Streamily will then post your autograph to you. They will send items internationally as well, so you have the opportunity to get a personalised Amber autograph and you can watch the signing session wherever you are.

It’s important to note however that Streamily do state that not all items are guaranteed to be signed live on camera. However, there is a Priority Signing option and a VIP membership package that can be purchased to ensure your item is signed on the live stream.

Earlier this month Amber posted via her official Twitter account to say that she was "excited to be part of this event". She also announced that a portion of the proceeds would be donated to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, to find out more about their work click here.

Last month it was announced that Amber would be holding a virtual autograph signing session via Streamily. This signing was due to take place on Sunday, 25th June at 9 PM UK time and 1 PM PST in the USA. Streamily announced on Thursday night that Amber's signing has been rescheduled and currently state it will take place on Sunday, 9th July.

The Streamily online platform gives fans the opportunity to buy a photo which Amber will then sign whilst on a live stream so fans can tune in and watch. The team at Streamily will then post your autograph to you. They will send items internationally as well, so you have the opportunity to get a personalised Amber autograph and you can watch the signing session wherever you are.

Amber posted an update via her official Twitter account in the early hours of the morning UK time about the event. She said, "There were some technical difficulties so this is getting moved a few weeks - will post when I have more info!"

According to the Streamily website signing is currently set to take place on Sunday, 9th July at 8 PM here in the UK and 12 PM PDT in the USA.

Update: Amber has now confirmed the date and time as posted on the Streamily website. Her friend and fellow Buffy cast member Clare Kramer will now be hosting this exciting online event. The event can be viewed via both Amber’s (@rebma_nosneb) and Clare’s (clarekramerofficial) Instagram accounts.

I have contacted Streamily to ask if all items that have been purchased previously will automatically be carried over to the new date. I was told that as the event has been rescheduled NOT cancelled that any autographs purchased for the original date would be automatically carried over to the new date.

Slay The Vampires 5 Convention Which Amber is Attending Now Being Held In November

Earlier this year I posted that it had been revealed Amber is set to be a guest at Slay The Vampires 5 Convention in Paris. The Convention was due to take place between the 14th and 15th of October 2023. Recently however it has been announced that the date of the Convention has been moved. It will now take place later in the year.

If you follow our dedicated Facebook page and Twitter feed, you may have seen that I shared a post from convention organisers Clouds Con announcing that Amber was to be their fourth guest for this Buffy the Vampire Slayer themed convention.

Joining Amber at Slay The Vampires 5 are her fellow Buffy co-stars:

Juliet Landau
Clare Kramer
Marc Blucas (now also announced)

Slay The Vampire's 5 will now take place on Saturday the 18th and Sunday, 19 November 2023. At the time of my original post the venue for the convention had not been announced. Along with the new dates it has been confirmed that the convention will be held at Novotel Paris Roissy CDG Convention.

Slay The Vampires 5 has the strapline "One Last Time" which suggests this could be the final Buffy themed Clouds Con convention. That said given the enduring popularity of Buffy I wouldn't rule out Amber and other stars making an appearance in Paris again even if the format is different.

Amber Benson To Hold a Virtual Signing Session Streamily In June

Here is some exciting news for fans, Amber will be holding a virtual autograph signing session via the Streamily platform in June.

The Streamily online platform is giving fans the opportunity to buy a photo which Amber will then sign whilst on a live stream so fans can log on and watch. The team at Streamily will then post your autograph to you. They will send items internationally as well so you have the opportunity to get a personalised Amber autograph and you can watch the signing session wherever you are in the world.

It’s important to note however that Streamily do state that not all items are guaranteed to be signed live on the camera. However there is a Priority Signing option and a family membership package that can be purchased to ensure your item is signed on the live stream.

The signing will take place on Sunday, 25th of June at 9PM here in the UK which is 1 PM PST in the USA. The live stream of the signing session itself will take place on Instagram. This also means that fans can login and watch with fellow Amber fans even if they don't purchase an autograph.

Amber Is Set To Attend Crossroads 7 Convention In Birmingham UK This September

Here is some hugely exciting news for fans, it has been announced that Amber is set to return to the UK to be one of the guests at Cross Roads 7 in Birmingham this September. Amber will be making her second appearance at a Cross Roads event following on from her appearance last year.

Crossroads is a Supernatural themed convention, Amber played the part of Lenore in two episodes of the long-running series Supernatural. At this event however there is a twist as it's been announced by convention organisers StarFury that "a bit of Buffy/Angel thrown in too". Amber of course starred as much loved character Tara Maclay in three seasons in Buffy the Vampire Slayer too.

Amber To Attend Slay The Vampires 5 Convention In Paris In October

Amber Benson Is Set To Attend Rose City Comic Con In Oregon This September.

Here is some exciting news for Amber fans in the USA, particularly if you live in the Oregon area. Amber is set to attend Rose City Comic Con in September.

Rose City Comic Con is described as Portland's premier pop culture event and its primary focus is comic books and comic book creators. It also provides attendees with access to stars from sci-fi, fantasy, anime and much more. Indeed, Amber is one of a number of guests from television and film to attend including her friend and fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Charisma Carpenter.

Rose City, Comic Con is set to take place between Friday the 9th - Sunday the 11th of September 2022 and is being held at Oregon Convention Center 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Portland, OR 97232

Amber Benson To Take Part In The Queer Pioneers Online Panel On Saturday, 4 June

Amber recently confirmed via her official Twitter account that she will take part in The Queer Pioneers conversation/panel next month.

The Queer Pioneers retrospective panel features three actors who played characters who were the first LGBTQ+ characters to have regular or recurring roles on TV. They made a significant impact not just on the storylines of their respective television shows but also on the audience watching at home.

Amber played the role of Tara Maclay who spent three seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Together with her co-star Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg) their characters were the first openly gay couple on a USA network television show. Joining Amber on this panel will be Wilson Cruz (My So-Called Life) and Jane Sibbett (Friends). Together they will discuss their experiences, triumphs and more, the panel will be moderated by Cameron Scheetz.

The Queer Pioneers will take place on 4 June at 8 AM PT which I believe I'm correct in saying will be at 4 PM UK time. The great news for fans is that this panel is free to watch, simply click the link below and press the "Free to RSVP" button to reserve your free virtual ticket for this event. There is also the opportunity to donate to OUTFEST if you wish. The Queer Pioneers will be presented by IMDb.

This panel is part of the The OutFronts, a four-day festival taking place from Friday 3rd June through to Monday 6th June with a collection of panels, premiers and events connecting fans with talent from LGBTQIA+ shows on television. It premiers on OutMuseum which is the first LGBTQ+ arts and media virtual museum of its kind – available free to the public and part of OUTFEST the global LGBTQIA+ arts, media and entertainment organization.

I'm looking forward to listening to what I think will be a really interesting discussion and I'm delighted that fans everywhere will get a chance to watch it.
