Earlier in her career Amber starred in two original movies for the Lifetime Network playing Danni Hartford in a fun festive film Holiday Wishes and Lori Madison in the romantic comedy 7 Things To Do Before I’m 30, still one of my favourite movies starring Amber.
Her latest work for the Lifetime Network is very different as she steps behind the camera to write the script for the Blade Runner Killer. A film which looks at the life of former Paralympic Champion and Olympic competitor Oscar Pistorius. A double leg amputee who learned to run using metal blades who conquered the track at Paralympic level and also competed in the Olympics. He had a seemingly storybook romance with model Reeva Steenkamp who’s life was tragically ended on Valentine's Day 2013 when she was shot to death in Pistorius's home.
The movie is told from the point of view of Reeva Steenkamp and her mother. Following the alleged events of that fateful night and the subsequent court case as he was convicted of her manslaughter. He is due to face a South African Supreme Court again as authorities appeal the length of his six-year sentence on the grounds that it is too lenient.
Entertainment website Deadline.com is reporting that Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer will have its world TV premiere on 11th of November at 8 PM on Lifetime. Click here to view an article from Deadline.com for more information about the film. Sadly at the moment there is no information as to when the film will have a UK premiere but we hope that it will be soon.
Everyone at AmberBenson.TV is delighted that Amber has been given this opportunity and we wish her every success with this project.
