Double Whammy Audiobook Is Re-Released & Narrated By Amber Benson

Earlier this week Audible re-released Double Whammy the first book in Gretchen Archer's Davis Way Crime Caper Series. This new version is narrated by Amber Benson. In 2014 Amber narrated Double Dip the second book in the series taking over from Dina Pearlman who had narrated Double Whammy when it was first released in 2013.

Amber has gone on to narrate the next five books in the series:
Double Strike
Double Mint
Double Knot
Double Up
Double Dog Dare

If you're not familiar with the series it centers on Davis Way who is part of the elite security team at Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi Mississippi. Davis and her team have dealt with thieves, con men, murderers and more while risking life and limb more than once.

Last year Double Whammy was rereleased to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the series. The audiobook version has been re-released and Amber has the chance to take us right back to the beginning as we meet Davis for the first time.

Davis the new recruit on the security team runs into her ex-ex-husband while trying to tackle rigged slot machines. Things take a darker turn beginning with a case of mistaken identity and a trail of dead bodies. Luckily for Davis help is at hand from Bradley Cole her landlord, lawyer and just maybe her love interest too.

This newly released version of Double Whammy is exclusive to Audible.

Last month it was revealed that Amber was set to narrate the audiobook version of I'll be there for you the one about friends which was released on 23rdof October. Journalist and pop culture expert Kelsey Miller looks at the origins of the sitcom which began in 1994 and became a global phenomenon. The book reflects on the iconic moments and cultural trends it inspired. It looks at the elusive reasons as to why all these years later so many people still watch it. The book combines commentary, behind-the-scenes anecdotes and more. Kelsey will also be joining Amber for some of the narration.

Amber Confirms She is Set To Narrate The Audiobook Version of The Pandora Room

Exciting news for Amber fans as she confirmed via her official Facebook page that she will be narrating the audiobook version of Christopher Golden's upcoming novel the Pandora Room. To see Amber's original post click the link below:

Amber and Christopher have been friends and collaborators for many years, together they co-wrote Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Willow and Tara: "Wilderness” and “Wannablessedbe” a 2 part comic book. The Ghosts of Albion web series for the BBC featuring Demon fighting siblings William and Tamara Swift.

They went on to write a novella and 2 full novels in which the Swifts continue their fight against evil. Christopher and Amber also wrote the radio drama Lights Out a chilling tale set inside a women's prison. This was part of the BBC's Man in Black series. Now Amber is set to lend her vocal talents to the audiobook version of The Pandora Room which is set to be released in April 2019.

With the book almost 8 months away I’ve been unable to find any specific details about when and in which countries the audiobook version will be released. As soon as we have any more information I will post it as soon as I can however if you hear anything please feel free to get in touch either by leaving a comment on this post or through our social media or email links.

Exciting news for fans of both Amber and Gretchen Archer’s Davis Way Crime Caper Series as Amber has narrated the audiobook version of Double Dog Dare the seventh installment in the series which was released a few days ago.

Gretchen is one of my favourite authors and I'm personally a big fan of the series. She creates engaging and well plotted mysteries with a great set of unique characters. Amber has narrated six of the seven audiobooks in the series to date using her skills as an actor to bring the characters off the page. Amber gives each character their own unique voice with some superb voice acting, trust me you’ll be amazed how different she sounds. Amber definitely adds another dimension to what I'm sure will be another exciting mystery. It gives her the chance to go back to her roots and let loose her lovely southern accent once more.

Amber To Narrate One Version Of Head On Audiobook Coming Soon

The gender of lead character Chris Shane isn't revealed in the course of Lock In. John decided to have two separate versions of the audiobook made, one narrated by Amber and the other by her friend and fellow actor Wil Wheaton. This will again be the case for Head On with both Amber and Wil returning to narrate their own versions. Both of which are now available for pre-order via both Audible.co.uk and Audible.com with both versions set to be released on the 17th of April 2018.

I'm really looking forward to Head On and catching up with the characters who inhabit the interesting and rich world that John has created. I've listened to Lock In (no prizes for guessing which version, I picked sorry Wil) I thoroughly enjoyed this gripping and thought-provoking mystery and I would recommend it.

Nexus Audiobook Narrated By Amber Now Available In The USA

In December 2017 Amber posted a photo via her official instagram account of herself working on the audiobook version of Nexus, the third and final instalment in the Zeroes trilogy. The Zeroes series is written by award-winning authors Scott Westerfeld, Margo Lanagan and Deborah Biancotti. Amber fans in the USA can now buy the Nexus audiobook as a digital download available from Audible.com and other outlets.

Sadly Nexus isn't currently available to buy in the UK this was also the case with Swarm (book 2) despite the fact that zeroes (book 1) is available in the UK. I don't know the reasons why the Swarm and Nexus audiobooks have not been released here, I will try to find out and let you know.

Dark Shadows: Dress Me In Dark Dreams - Audio Drama Starring Amber Now Available On Audible

In 2012 Amber took on the role of Judith Collins in Dark Shadows: Dress Me In Dark Dreams audio drama.

This original dramatic reading is a spin-off from the cult US supernatural soap opera Dark Shadows which aired between 1966 - 1971. Dark Shadows is set in the fictional fishing town of Collinsport Maine. Collingwood the ancestral home to the Collins family is frequently the epicentre of dark and mysterious occurrences involving magic, ghosts and a vast array of supernatural creatures.

As the drama begins we meet Judith Collins (Amber) who’s trapped in Collingwood tasked with caring for her bitter grandmother Edith Collins (Terry Crawford). Amber Narrates Swarm Audiobook Out Now via Audible USA

Exciting news for Amber fans in the USA as she has narrated the audiobook version of Swarm which is out now.

Swarm is written by Scott Westerfeld, Margo Lanagan & Deborah Biancotti and is the second book in the Zeroes trilogy. Following Amber’s excellent work narrating Zeroes she has returned to narrate the second instalment of this exciting series.

Unlike Zeroes, Swarm isn't currently available in the UK. I don't know the reason behind this I will email audible in the near future and ask however for now all we can do is hope that the audiobook version of Swarm will eventually make its way across the pond.
