Amber To Perform As Part of Retrospecs Online Show This Sunday 28th of June

Amber announced a few days ago via Twitter that she will be performing in the first RetroSpecs this Sunday, 28th of June.

This is the first in a series of online shows, RetroSpecs sees a group of actors perform a spec script. These are sample scripts for popular TV shows written by professional writers who were at the beginning of their careers. Spec scripts were common in the US television industry for many years.

In this performance the cast will be reading a spec script for Buffy the Vampire Slayer written in 2002 by Julie Plec who would go on to be the creator and showrunner for supernatural series The Vampire Diaries amongst others.

I'm excited to hear this script which will be a story from the Buffyverse that very few people will have heard before. As many of you will know Amber is a former Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast member herself having played the role of Tara Maclay for three seasons. Amber is an amazing actor and I’m sure it will be thrill for Buffy fans to have a former cast member bringing character(s) to life.

Joining Amber in the cast will be:

Isabella Gomez from One Day at a Time
Percy Daggs III from Veronica Mars
Arielle Kebbel Ballers/Midnight Texas, and more
David Anders iZombie and The Vampire Diaries
Lexi Underwood from Little Fires Everywhere

As I mentioned earlier RetroSpecs is an online event that will take place on the House Seats website which aims to bring live shows from theatre and comedy clubs to people via the Internet while supporting good causes. Proceeds from RetroSpecs will go to Color of Change the USA's largest online racial justice organisation. To find out more about their work click here.

RetroSpecs will take place on Sunday, 28 June at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET which is after checking again time today 28/6/20/ midnight UK time.

The House Seats website have also said RetroSpecs will be available for 48 hours after the event to view on demand for anyone who has purchased a ticket.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Panel At WCC Live Featuring Amber Is Now Available On Demand

Convention organisers Wales Comic Con are giving fans another chance to see Amber's appearance at WCC Live on demand.

Covid 19 continues to affect people worldwide so last month UK convention organiser’s Wales Comic Con held an online “Comic Con” style experience. Here guests and fans from around the world participated live online via their computers and mobile devices.

WCC Live featured a number of different panels from a host of popular TV shows and films including Buffy the Vampire Slayer of course. Amber was joined by her fellow Buffy co-stars:

Seth Green

All of whom were generously donating their time for free with any and all profits from the event going to support the NHS in this difficult time.

To view the panel on demand head to Twitch.com/walescomiccon and sign up for an account or use your existing account details to sign into the Twitch video sharing platform. Then click subscribe, the cost of the subscription is £4.99 per month. For this you can view the panel as many times as you wish online or via the app, you'll also get access to all of the panels which took place as part of the event. The panel is a must see for any Amber/Buffy fan as Amber and co discuss life in lockdown and share their experiences and memories of what it was like to be part of the Buffyverse. There are some brilliant behind-the-scenes stories and a lot of laughs too, I can highly recommend it.

Amber Is Supporting Buffy The Vampire Slayer - A Quiz For A Cause Today

Amber is joining Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon and a number of her fellow cast members in supporting “A Quiz For A Cause” an online Buffy the Vampire Slayer quiz raising money for charity today. (16th of May)

GrrArghCast host Brandon Ellyson will host the quiz with questions read by stars and famous fans of Buffy, recorded specifically for this event. A Quiz For A Cause will take place today (16 May) at 5 PM EDT. Taking into account the time difference between the USA and UK for anyone interested in taking part from the UK it will begin at midnight Satuday.

The money raised is going to support the charity Direct Relief who are working across the USA to provide protective equipment and medication to support health workers who are treating patients affected by Covid 19.

Another Chance To See Wizard World’s Stars Of Buffy/Angel Panel Featuring Amber Benson

Last month Amber was a guest at Wizard World’s Virtual Experiences with the stars of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, this was an online Comic Con style event. COVID 19 affecting people’s lives around the globe, so convention organisers Wizard World offered fans an alternative way to meet some of their favourite stars from Buffy The Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel in a virtual and interactive online event.

Part of this online event was a Q&A which was streamed live to fans on a number of different platforms.

As you may have seen in my earlier posts about this event Emma Caulfield was due to take part, unfortunately she had to cancel due to illness.

This highly enjoyable panel is a must for any fan of Amber/Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Amber To Be The Special Guest At An Online Buffy The Vampire Slayer Trivia Event Today

There was exciting news earlier as it was revealed on Twitter that Amber will be the special guest at an online Buffy the Vampire Slayer virtual trivia event later today (14th of May).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer virtual trivia - West Coast is being hosted by Lez Hang Out podcast. Amber has been a guest on the Lez hangout podcast hosted by Ellie Brigida and Leigh Holmes Foster. This regular podcast covers lesbian representation in the media, culture and a whole lot more.

They also run a number of regular events but with Covid 19 still affecting the lives of people around the globe, they are hosting Buffy the Vampire Slayer themed trivia event online for fans around the world.

As I'm sure many people already know Amber played the role of Tara Maclay on Buffy the Vampire Slayer for three seasons, alongside Willow (Alyson Hannigan). They were the first long-term openly gay couple on network television in the USA.

Tickets are still available for the event with teams of between two and six players each. If you don't have anyone in your home to participate with organisers will match you up with other players in a similar situation. The event itself will be held using video calling platform Zoom. Registered teams and players will be emailed a private link and password before the event.

The event itself will take place at 6 PM PST contestants/participants are being asked to log on at 5:45 PM PST to start at 6 PM PST today the 14th of May. Taking into account the time difference between the USA and UK for anyone interested in taking part from the UK it will begin in the early hours of Thursday 15th of May. From 1 AM GMT (12:45 AM GMT) for log on.

There will be prizes on offer too, tickets are priced at $10 or $5 anyone who can afford to pay the higher price is asked to do so with $5 tickets intended for a needs basis. A portion of the proceeds raised is going to support Tagg Magazine.

Amber Benson To Attend Wales Comic Con Live Online Event This Saturday 2nd of May

There was exciting news for Amber fans yesterday as Wales Comic Con confirmed that she will be a guest at Wales Comic Con Live, this will be taking place on 2nd and 3rd of May 2020.

Covid 19 continues to affect people worldwide so UK convention organiser’s Wales Comic Con are holding an online “Comic Con” style experience. Here guests and fans from around the world can participate live online via their computers and mobile devices.

Wales Comic Con have confirmed that all profits from the event will go to the NHS and other charities here in the UK. Amber will be participating in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer panel with her fellow co-star Anthony Head. Update as of 2/5/20 It had now been announced that they will joined by Seth Green, Clare Kramer and James Marsters. Amber and Co. will be appearing on Saturday May 2nd at 8pm GMT.

The event will be hosted via online streaming site Twitch, fans who want to take part can do so by visiting Twitch.com/walescomiccon. The cost of the event is £4.99, if you are a first time user sign up for an account, existing users can log in with their details.

Once on the page click the subscribe button and select the £4.99 option and choose your method of payment. Please note that only those viewers who have subscribed to the Wales Comic Con page will be able to view the event.

Organisers have confirmed their will be various donation points throughout the weekend and auction opportunities available to fans as well.

Last week Amber revealed she would be a guest at Wizard World’s Virtual Experiences with the stars of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel on Saturday, the 11th of April 2020. COVID 19 is affecting people’s lives around the globe, so convention organisers Wizard World are offering fans an alternative way to meet some of their favourite stars from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel in a virtual and interactive online event.

This event is set to take place online from 12 PM PDT which is 8PM GMT (UK Time) onwards on Saturday, the 11th of April 2020. Fans around the world can attend online via their computer or mobile devices and the guests will all be taking part in a Q&A which is free to attend.

Amber confirmed in a subsequent tweet that the panel will be starting at 12 PM PDT/8PM GMT (UK Time) and is available free to fans via YouTube, Facebook and Twitch, from the links below:

I'm told by Wizard World Customer Services that the one-on-one video chats will take place via the Zoom website or app. Anyone with tickets will receive a link via the email address they used when purchasing their tickets prior to the event.

I also bought an autograph for my collection and to support Amber in helping a worthy cause. Amber has confirmed via Twitter that all the money that she receives from this event will be donated to the charity Feeding America to help people during these difficult times.

When I purchased mine, I did have an issue because TIXR (the website selling tickets on behalf of Wizard World) wouldn't accept a UK delivery address. However, I emailed Wizard World Customer Service and they were very helpful and confirmed that they will deliver to UK addresses and helped me make changes to my order. If you have any problems I recommend emailing them at [email protected] from personal experience I can tell you that they were happy to help and all of my issues were resolved.

Amber Is No Longer Able To Attend Wales Comic Con: Telford Takeover

There was some sad news for UK Amber Benson fans this afternoon as Wales Comic Con: Telford Takeover confirmed that due to new work commitments Amber is now unable to attend the event in December. Wales Comic Con have confirmed that anyone who has purchased photo opportunities with Amber will be automatically refunded.

I'm attending the event and naturally I'm really disappointed not to be able to meet Amber next month. However as a fan I want to wish Amber every success with her new work and I look forward to finding out more about this in the future, I also hope she returns to the UK soon.

Amber Is Set To Be A Guest At The Vampire Ball - London 2020

Here is some exciting news for UK based fans as Amber is the very first guest announced for the 11th Vampire Ball Convention in November 2020.

Star Fury Convention’s The Vampire Ball is a three-day event celebrating Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse. Amber will be joined by Dollhouse star Miracle Laurie with more guests to be announced in the coming months. The convention will include autograph sessions, photo opportunities, guest talks, themed party nights and more.

The Vampire Ball will be held between the 13th -15th of November 2020 at The Renaissance Hotel, Heathrow, London. It's unusual for me to post information about an event which is over a year away. However, I know from experience that it is an excellent event but much smaller than larger scale conventions. Tickets are on sale now and I wanted to let fellow fans know early so they didn't miss out.

According to the event website there will be discounted room rates available for those attending the convention via a link on their website. However the hotel isn't available to book yet but I will be keeping a close eye on developments. I will post a further update to let fans know when they can book a room if they want to.
