Amber Benson is to attend Iron City Comic Con in May.

As many fans will know Amber was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Earlier this week, Amber announced via her official Facebook and Instagram accounts that she will be returning to her hometown in May to attend Iron City Comic Con.

The two-day event offers fans the chance to meet Amber and a number of other celebrities from TV, film, professional wrestling, and more. Amber will be giving fans the opportunity to get autographs and photographs.

According to the official event website, there will be panel discussions as well. At the time of publication, we do not know if Amber will be involved in a panel. If and when more information is released, I will add it to this post.

Iron City Comic Con will take place between Saturday, 31 May, and Sunday, 1 June 2025. It will be held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Center (The BJCC) in Birmingham, Alabama. Located at 2100 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd N., Birmingham, AL, 35203

Fans in the UK can now see Amber in Buffy the Vampire Slayer on free streaming service ITVX

Fans in the UK can now watch Amber Benson as Tara Maclay in Buffy the Vampire Slayer via the free streaming service ITVX.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is now available in the UK, free, on ITV’s streaming service ITVX. Earlier this month all seven seasons were added to ITVX, which is free and supported by adverts. It’s the first time it's been on free-to-air television or free streaming service since 2022 when it was previously available from another UK broadcaster Channel 4.

ITVX can be watched on a range of devices including laptops, tablets, smart phones, smart TVs, games consoles, and more. There is also a premium option available if you wish to watch without adverts. For more information on how to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer see the hyperlink below.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer on ITVX

This will give Amber fans the chance to see her play the iconic and much-loved role of Tara Maclay who made her debut in "Hush" in season 4. Buffy remains much loved by fans even after more than two decades.

Buffy is still attracting new generations of fans even today so with this in mind, if you are a first-time viewer, there will be some spoilers below.

Amber played Tara Maclay for three seasons. Her shy smile, honesty, and loyalty made her a big hit with fans. Amber's dramatic exit from the show in 2002 was extremely controversial, especially among the LGBTQ community, and still provides a big talking point for fans to this day.

Tara & Willow (Alyson Hannigan) were the first long term openly gay couple on a US network television show. Amber played the role of Tara with both honesty and sensitivity, which earned her much deserved praise.

The role had a big impact on her life, and Amber continues to support the LGBTQ community. Amber’s impact on the Buffyverse goes far beyond her role on screen. Amber has co-written Willow and Tara comic books with her friend and fellow author Christopher Golden. Amber has also written her own short story about Claudine who was the Slayer at the time of the French Revolution.

In 2023, Slayers: A Buffyverse Story was released – an Audible Exclusive podcast series. It’s set within the Buffy verse thirteen years after “Chosen”, the final episode of the TV series. Amber co-wrote, co-directed, and reprised her role as Tara Maclay along with several of her co-stars and friends returning to the original roles they played in the TV series.

Amber Benson is set to be a guest at Whispers from the Hellmouth 3 Convention in Paris next year.

Here is some exciting news for fans in Europe as Amber is set to be a guest at "Whispers from the Hellmouth 3" – a convention in Paris in February 2026. Amber confirmed she will return to Paris next spring to celebrate Buffy the Vampire Slayer and spinoff series Angel.

Amber will be joined at the convention by her friend and fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Charisma Carpenter. Eric Balfour and Stephanie Romanov will also be in attendance.

"Whispers from the Hellmouth 3" convention will take place Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of February 2026. The location of the convention has yet to be announced.

I've spoken to others who previously attended events by the same organisers, Geek'n’Cheese Conventions, and they usually held the event in the Pullman Hotel near Charles De Gaulle Airport. As soon as I have any more information about the location of the convention, I will post it in the latest news section.

Entry tickets are on sale and there are a range of other extras including photoshoots, autographs, one-on-one fan meets which include a selfie, and group chats with individual or all guests.

Exciting news for fans! Amber was the special guest on episode five of the Reading Smut Podcast hosted by Brea Grant and Mallory O’Meara.

Amber discusses how as a teenager she first started to read romantic fiction while on a road trip and what happened to the books she read along the way. Brea and Mallory also share how they first discovered romantic fiction.

They discussed the romance fiction that was available when they were growing up, and the differences between what they had then and what is being published now. Amber, Brea, and Mallory all agree on the importance of romantic fiction being written for, and from, the point of view of women. They also discussed how romantic fiction is perceived in the world, and a whole lot more.

Here is some exciting news for fans in the UK: ‘I Saw The TV Glow’ featuring Amber Benson is now available to watch on TV and stream on demand on Sky Cinema and NOW TV. As many fans will know ‘I Saw The TV Glow’ was released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland last summer and now it's available on both UK TV and streaming on demand for the first time.

‘I Saw The TV Glow’ centres on Owen (Justice Smith) and Maddy (Brigette Lundy-Paine); two teenagers trying to navigate their way through life and high school. Owen and Maddie bond over a shared interest in a supernatural TV show The Pink Opaque. However, when it’s cancelled, Owen’s reality begins to blur with the fictional world in which The Pink Opaque is set.

This is the first time Amber has appeared in an on-screen role since she starred as Professor Samantha Rand in 2019's The Nightmare Gallery. In recent years, Amber has transitioned from acting to writing, including the Calliope-Reaper Jones series and the Echo Park Coven Series of novels. Following the completion of these successful series Amber has since written a number of both fiction and non-fiction film projects for television. Amber is featured as ‘Johnny Link’s Mom’, a small but important role that provides Owen with a moment of support and comfort.

Amber is hosting a chat on Instagram Live Today

Amber is hosting a live chat on Instagram later today with friend and fellow author Sina Grace.

Sina’s name may well be familiar to Amber fans as Sina is who illustrated Amber’s children’s book Among The Ghosts and Amber starred in both seasons of his semi-autobiographical web series Self-Obsessed.

They will be chatting about Sina’s brand-new graphic novel West Hollywood Monster Squad. The story centres on Marvin Matocho as he and his friends are attending a drag show when it’s suddenly overrun by monsters. Now this group of high school friends might just be the only thing standing between LA and its total destruction.

Amber and Sina will also be joined by the illustrator Bradley Clayton.

Amber has released a video to thank all who supported her fundraising efforts for LA Wildfires Relief.

As many fans will know, Amber held a virtual autograph signing with online platform Streamily on the 17th of January with all proceeds going to the LA Wildfires Relief effort. Amber also organised a raffle so more people could participate.

In return for a donation of whatever you could afford to the Wildfire Relief Fund 2025 GoFundMe page, Amber gave away some amazing prizes, donated not just by her but also by two fellow authors Raven Belasco and Cooper S. Beckett.

The draw has now been made and Amber has released a video on her official Facebook and Instagram accounts to thank fans for their generosity and supporting such a worthy cause.

Amber Has Organised A Raffle In Support Of The LA Wildfires Relief Effort

As regular visitors to the site and followers of our social media feeds will know, Amber recently held an autograph signing session with online platform Streamily with all proceeds going to the LA wildfires relief effort.

In the run-up to the signing, Amber announced she had organised a raffle to raise funds for the relief effort. Amber has donated some great prizes, including one-on-one chats with her via Zoom.

As many fans will know Amber has narrated several audiobooks, both her own work and for a number of fellow authors. Two of those fellow authors, Cooper S. Beckett and Raven Belasco, are also donating prizes including books, eBooks, and audiobooks in support of the raffle.

Amber Benson To Hold a Virtual Signing Session via Streamily on Friday the 17th of January.

In 2023, Amber held a virtual signing session with the online platform Streamily. Amber announced yesterday via her official Instagram and Facebook accounts that she is to have another signing session later this week. She also confirmed on social media and her page on the Streamily website that all proceeds from the signing will be donated to the LA fire relief efforts, to assist those affected by the devastating wildfires that have struck Los Angeles in the last few days.

It had been announced on the Streamily website previously that Amber would be holding a signing session next month. I was preparing a post about that when this news came through. At this stage, I don't know if there will be two autograph sessions or whether Amber has chosen to bring her session forward to this week in order to support the LA fire relief effort. As soon as I have any further information about that I will post it here.

If you’re not familiar with Streamily, here is what you need to know. It’s an online platform that gives fans the opportunity to buy a photo which Amber will then sign whilst on a live stream so fans can tune in and watch. The team at Streamily will then post your autograph to you. They will send items internationally as well so you have the opportunity to get a personalised Amber autograph, and you can watch the signing session wherever you are.

It’s important to note however that Streamily does state that not all items are guaranteed to be signed live on the camera. However, there is a Priority Signing option and a family membership package that can be purchased to ensure your item is signed on the live stream.

The signing will take place on Friday the 17th of January at 7 pm here in the UK and 11 am PST in the USA. The live stream of the signing session itself will take place on Amber’s Instagram account @rebma_nosneb. This also means that fans can log in and watch with fellow Amber fans even if they don't purchase an autograph.

It's also important to mention that as part of her Streamily store, Amber has some pre-signed autographs for sale. If you want one signed to you personally select a photo with the “Signed On Livestream” banner on it. This does not guarantee it will be signed on the stream itself unless you have selected one of the VIP or priority options. I’d like to wish Amber Benson a very Happy Birthday. Amber, I hope today and the year ahead brings you happiness and only good things.

Followers of the website’s social media feeds will know that I posted Happy Birthday messages there too of course. I also wanted to write a post here in the Latest Amber News section as well.

I've been a huge fan and have followed Amber's career for many years and in that time, I've been fortunate enough to meet her in person on a number of occasions.

Amber is not only hugely talented she's also a kind and generous person too. If it had not been for the encouragement Amber has given me, I never would have attempted many new things. I’m very grateful for all of her support and kind words.
