Amber’s latest trail of five unique houses in Los Angeles each with a spooky past or connection to witches. This year’s trail is called ‘Witch Houses 5: Covens All of them Witches!: Five Magical Multi-Family Manors.’
This trail was curated in association with Friends of Residential Treasures: LA (FORT) “Friends Of Residential Treasures: LA is an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to bringing people together by celebrating the history and influence of residential architecture.”
Amber based her Echo Park Coven trilogy of novels in Los Angeles and she has also written a number of other novels and short stories with witches or ghosts and other spooky phenomenon. This year's trail is a little different however as Amber has been researching most recent and strange history of part of LA.
Here's how trailblazer Amber describes Witch Houses 5: Covens All of them Witches!: Five Magical Multi-Family Manors.’ in the official guide:
“This is Amber Benson, your friendly FORT: LA “WITCH HOUSES” trail
curator!
For the past few Octobers, I’ve had the honor of sharing spooky residential treasures with my fellow Angelenos.
Each of FORT: LA’s Halloween-themed trails is a ghoulish labor of love meant to get you excited about exploring the scary/creepy/haunted homes woven into the architectural tapestry that is Los Angeles––and this year’s trail is no different.
Except...where normally I write fun flights of fantasy about each of the homes on the list, this year’s trail is rooted in reality...the strange, underground, witchy reality of a pre-Y2K Los Angeles that I discovered in a back issue of the LA Times Picayune at the Central Library.
From the archives of now defunct LA Ghastly, to the papers of infamous Los Angeles witch, Rebecca Marrow...so began the odyssey that would eventually become FORT: LA’s extra-special Halloween trail, Witch Houses 5: Covens.
I hope you enjoy it!”

I love history and if I could I’d definitely be following Amber's latest trail myself. I’d encourage anyone who can to check it out. A big thank you to friend and fellow Amber fan Laragh for the heads up about this exciting new trail.
